When Is a Product Defective?
A product may be considered defective as a result of its design, manufacture or warning or instruction.
An example of a design defect is when a different design would have made the product reasonably safer and prevented the injury. A defective warning would consist of a manufacturer failing to warn consumers of the dangerous potential of the product. An example of a manufacturing defect would be failing to tighten a bolt resulting in a catastrophic accident.
